STOCK TAKING OF THE OFFICE PRIOR TO DESIGNING

Before starting a new design project it is necessary to do stocktaking of the site of future works. It is also advised to do so in case of moving to the new premises. In this text we list the activities included in this service.

Stocktaking includes the following activities:

  • identifying the current finishing details of the premises such as: the colours of the walls, types of windows and doors, types of carpets or patterns used, including all the architecture solutions used in the interior;
  • defining the current state of the premises – in case the offices were previously used by another company, our works may include the refurbishment of existing solutions;
  • taking detailed measurements of each of the rooms, including walls and floors;
  • taking detailed measurements of existing windows;
  • checking the existing power sockets floor boxes and ventilation shafts;
  • checking the location of lighting and measurement of illuminance;
  • identifying communication routes;
  • marking the division of spaces including safety and firefighting regulations on plans.

At this stage it is necessary to define the intended use of the rooms according to the organisational structure of your company. Different solutions will be applied for bookkeeping or call centre department and other for commercial department, executive room or reception. All the above have to be considered before preliminary draft of the project is designed.

Taking into account stocktaking we shall suggest specific and functional arrangements/ solutions for each office in your company. We will adapt the workstations to the available surfaces and to the intended use:

  • we shall adapt partition walls to enhance communication in the premises – allowing for eye to eye contact, communication and easy movement between workstations (communication routes);
  • we shall suggest furniture to match each room as for: materials, patterns, colours which are aesthetically pleasing and at the same time functional and durable.;
